California born artist Jesse Mather began working in the film industry in 1981. Starting out as a studio electrician, he learned the craft of lighting from the countless cameramen, grips and electricians that he found himself in the ranks with.

“On my days off I'd take my camera to the streets and go searching for that image, whatever it might be. While on the set those excursions into the street with my camera gave me insight into how to put myself into the "On Set Camera" as well as how to view all things."

Jesse Mather's photographic tribute to unsung Hollywood crew members, titled "In The Dark - The People Who Make The Movies" is on permanent loan to The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Other Jesse Mather works have been accepted by the G. Ray Hawkins Gallery.

All Silver B&W images are made in the darkroom by hand by the artist and mounted on Archival Museum Board.
